The Ultimate Makeup Capsule

Let me put it out there, I’ve been around the block, so to speak, when it comes to beauty lines… starting out with a lot of MAC products, then moving to Lancôme for a bit before falling in love with NYX. Something I’ve always felt comfortable doing is opting for lines and products that help your skin, even if the price tag is higher than your typical drug store find. When it comes to what you’re putting on your face, it’s worth it to make the investment. I don’t wear a full face of makeup every day, preferring a subtle look, but I do strive for that no makeup makeup look, that effortless glamour that just a little of the right product can give you.

Life can be a little crazy but I do find time for my daily beauty routine and thought for those busy folks out there, I’d share some of my hero products I use time and time again….

Benefit POREfessional Face Primer:

Before you choke over the price, keep in mind that mine has lasted over a year. It’s not a product I use every day, as I use it for looks that require a lot more coverage and definition. (I hate the feeling of walking around in a ton of makeup all day!). A pea sized drop instantly evens my skin and leaves an insanely smooth finish, keeping my makeup looking fresh all day long long.

NYX HD Concealer:

Nothing fancy, here! This drug store buy does a great job at concealing dark under eyes. I use it on problem spots as well.

MAC Studio Fix Foundation:

Having tried both higher and lower- end lines, I gave the MAC foundation a shot after being wary of its popularity (you know when something seems too good to be true?) I was proved wrong, so I guess I’m hooked. It has an excellent amount of coverage without looking too heavy and seems to last an age. If you have any other affordable foundation you’d recommend I’d love to hear as I keep going back to this one!

MAC Studio Fix Compact Powder:

I dab a little swish of this powder right on top of my under eye concealer and T zone. It sets the makeup, and gives off a subtle but incredibly flattering brightening effect. This product really does help in keeping the makeup in place, fixing it firmly and protecting the daily look. I strongly recommend this one to those who, like me, really struggle with the oil breakouts.

MAC Bronzer in Matte Bronze:

Being naturally fair-skinned, I’ve never been one to go over-board with bronzer. Every day, though a light swish across my cheeks, forehead, and down the bridge of my nose adds a little depth to my complexion. I’ve found this shade to be nicely pigmented, without giving off an off-putting, orange shade. A Summer-time must have!

MAC blush in desert rose:

It’s that warm rosy pink that works for EEEVERYONE and every look! The pigmentation is out of this world, you barely need any product, and you get serious true pigment.

MAC highlighter in soft & gentle:

Having read about this highlighter on some other blogs and seen it mentioned numerous times on The ‘Gram I thought it was worth giving it a whirl to see if it could work its magic on my complexion. I.was.not.disappointed. It does what everybody says it does and gives you a celestial radiance, like a little heavenly light beam where ever you use it. No awful glitter, no high shine, it just has a beautiful subtle magical sheen, cementing its place in my make up bag for the rest of my life.

Lancôme Hypnose Drama Mascara:

While you can get a great mascara at your corner drug store without having to shell out too much money, I think this one is totally worth the splurge! Full, thick lashes every time, without the itchy residues many plumping mascaras leave. I usually get some on my eyelids when applying, but use a Q-tip to swipe the residue off. Works like a charm!

NYX matte lipstick in Whipped Caviar:

Ok so you know when you have been looking for the perfect “nude” lipstick for ages and finally find it and you want to whoop with excitement as it is! Well this super affordable matte NYX lipstick in the shade Whipped Caviar is just that. It glides on so smoothly and is a great combination of creamy and sheer. No cakeyness that you get with a matte lipstick and softer than you’re regular lippy. This shade is perfect for the everyday look without being too bright and would work on loads of skin tones. Love it!

Sooooo there you have it, a few of my little beauty secrets. I am not claiming to be a beauty expert, just a girl that likes wearing a little slap now and again and these are a few of my recent favorite finds. I’d love to hear if you have any loves or comments, or similar products you’d recommend so please do comment below!
